Dallas Sons of Hermann Golf Association

We are a group of dedicated weekend warriors who love to attack the small white ball once a month at a variety of Dallas area public, municipal, and some semi-private clubs. Our philosophy is simple: keep it casual, keep it fun, and involve as many as possible. Our members cover a wide range of skill levels from single-digit handicappers to the part-time golfer who just enjoys being on the course occasionally. We do keep a handicap system that uses a lot of the USGA calculations but are not tied to any golf course. Our rules are set up to speed the pace of play while still keeping the game as fun as possible for all members. We encourage you to come check us out. We do have member/guest tournaments on occasion and our annual Bryan's House Benefit Tournament is open to everyone. Dallas Sons Of Hermann Golf Association: You may ask- what is the "Sons Of Hermann"?

The Order of the Sons of Hermann is a not-for-profit fraternal life insurance company, also referred to as a "fraternal" benefit society. It was founded in Texas in 1861 by two German immigrants who migrated from New York. Hermann Sons is the largest fraternal benefit society operating in only one state- Texas- with more than 76,000 members. Membership is conferred, (pending approval by the Grand Lodge in San Antonio), by the purchase of a life insurance contract or annuity. This is done through an agent from one of the local lodges. Many fraternal benefits await approved members.

"Friendship, Love, and Loyalty" is the motto for Sons Of Hermann's Lodge, therefore you may be sure that charitable endeavors, community, state and national services are priority to its members. Since it was members from the Sons Of Hermann that formed the DSOHGA (Dallas Sons Of Hermann Golf Association) it was befitting that this name, motto, and fraternal values be adopted. We are very proud of our golf association and feel we have honored the "Sons Of Hermann" name with our attention to motto and values. In our short 9 years of existence, we have been instrumental in donating over $40,000 to the needs of our community. The man hours are innumerable. Yes, we plan to play as much golf as possible, have as much fun as possible, and serve our community in any way possible.
